I can understand getting an MOT level of inspection every year or so, but declaring it MOT exempt does mean you don't have to have it checked at specific intervals.

Yes, however your insurer might want it done, which is fine by me ?

Most folks in this position kind of know their way about their car anyways...

But always helps to have it independently checked yearly I think..

Also DvSA do random checks roadside and can take a car failing standards off the road there and then..
