Sorry if this has been asked before, did a search but couldn't find anything...
Is there a database online somewhere where you can check your Mini's date of fabrication ?

The plates are as follows :
- Car N° (top of radiator frame) AA2SBD - 13258***
- Commission N° 2/155 0503***

Reversed Stamped Plates :
- Crossbar L090***
- Above Radiator FE1443***
- Interior Footwell FO54***

all i know is that production started in October 1967 with chassis number A/A2SB 1068001.

and ended in December 1969 with chassis number A/A2SB 1372023.

i think the "D" stands for longbridge (it does on rover coopers)

if you assume that production followed a steady quantity of cars then you can work out an approximate date from this but you should be able to get a heritage certificate from gaydon.

thats strange because mine was built 3 august 1967 and chassis number was 493792 so that means that there were 574309 built from 3 august 1967 untill october 1967.

are you sure yours is an austin mini ???

these figures are for Austins, the Morris figures are M/A2S6 507001 and M/A2S6 713901 respectively.

sorry mr anorack, i did not realise that was just for austins, mine is a morris and show it was built 13,209 before the start of the mk2s. would be nice to know if mine is the last one surviving before the mk2s started.

If I go with Mr Anorak's train of thought...

• 27 months production
• 304,022 cars produced
• 11,260 cars produced per month

375 cars/day !



That would put my build date around Aug or September '69
