depends if ur going by yourself or wiv family

tesco quoted me £1300 fully comp, car valued £100, excess £250

But i decided to get a policy with my dad on, its £136 thru liverpool victoria, fully comp, excess @ £250 so i cant complain. paid for it straight up, sorted for year.

they are a low risk car, small engine, but v easily stealable due to lack of security fitted as standard, fit an alarm etc u got 2yrs aint ya?

i was looking at 1300 on my own insurance, but on my dads i managed to get it down to 175 quid, not bad for a modified 1275 classic mini, CIS are the people to go to (Co-Op Insurance Services)

yeah, i would say that

£500 will be like fully comp, dad as main driver, u as named driver, excesses of £100 and car valued at 1000 or so.

some companys dont charge you with a stage one, some do but not much apparently.

one thing you must remeber though is that by the time your 17 miniman the insurance prices will have rised, all because of young boy racers claiming on insurance with big engined cars.

the 998cc is such a great engine.

Of course if you get insured in your dads name then you won't be earning any no claims bonus.

When I passed my test 3 Years ago, It cost me 997 Fully Comp to insure a 998 City with Alloys and a St1 kit in my own name.

Now 3 years down the line with one accident (not my fault and recovered) and 3 years NCB my Highly Modified SPI Sprite is 557 Fully Comp and that includes Top Level (Europe Everything) Green Flag Breakdown cover.

Insured with the Pru www.pru.co.uk unfortunately they won't take on anyone under 21 now, but I got in at 17 so they can't get rid of me and my premium is just going down by the year.. touch wood this time next year I'll be able to protect my NCB too

if you go third party on your own it helps build your no claims so on your own is better in the long run.

my insurance at 18 for a 998 stage 1 with alloys and buckets from cis insurance was about 1200 including the interest on the payments, managed to get it down to £900 this year including the interest, thats with no no claims, i had a crash last year :D :D
i reckon if you try and get insurance under your name and just don't crash then you'll be ok, certainly works out better in the long run because your getting no claims.

Its best to get insured in your own policy straight away, else you will get charged for it in the future.......... eventhough its going to be expensive to start of with its definitely worth it....

Try Hert Insurance Consultants/Miniworld Insurance they are very good...........
