tesco quoted me £1300 fully comp, car valued £100, excess £250
But i decided to get a policy with my dad on, its £136 thru liverpool victoria, fully comp, excess @ £250 so i cant complain. paid for it straight up, sorted for year.
they are a low risk car, small engine, but v easily stealable due to lack of security fitted as standard, fit an alarm etc u got 2yrs aint ya?

one thing you must remeber though is that by the time your 17 miniman the insurance prices will have rised, all because of young boy racers claiming on insurance with big engined cars.
the 998cc is such a great engine.

When I passed my test 3 Years ago, It cost me 997 Fully Comp to insure a 998 City with Alloys and a St1 kit in my own name.
Now 3 years down the line with one accident (not my fault and recovered) and 3 years NCB my Highly Modified SPI Sprite is 557 Fully Comp and that includes Top Level (Europe Everything) Green Flag Breakdown cover.
Insured with the Pru www.pru.co.uk unfortunately they won't take on anyone under 21 now, but I got in at 17 so they can't get rid of me and my premium is just going down by the year.. touch wood this time next year I'll be able to protect my NCB too

i reckon if you try and get insurance under your name and just don't crash then you'll be ok, certainly works out better in the long run because your getting no claims.
