My Falken's where used every day, all year round. But I did drive in a dense city with lots of bends and tended to never slow down in corner or roundabouts.
Good ratio on breakpad wear tho...
The main problem was grip in wett.
All MY minis have been off the road since 2015 so I can't say I used the Yoko's much. The Gf's a539 mpi seems to be unwarn but was only driven for about 1000km so far.

Depends how you drive, I once got 6 laps at Castle Combe out of a brand new Falken on the rear before the canvas started to show.

New tyres are soft and the driving was extreme.....or was it the grip was so bad......

About 5000 miles on a set of Yoko`s and most of the time the tyres will be too old before they wear out as not many people daily drive a mini anymore.

The grip will be considerably less by the time the tyre is 6 years old.

It`s very expensive to replace a front end on a mini and impossible to replace a human life so if you are going to drive in a spirited manner the A539 is the only sensible choice.

I have used the Nankang tyres and they are surprisingly OK and better in the wet than the Falkens but they do give out a little howl quite early into cornering but stay on line.

If you are plodding around enjoying the view in a calm and sensible manner on dry and sunny days there are plenty of 145/70-12`s available from £26.00 with free delivery so it really depends on what you are using the car for ?

So far Yokohama seems to be the preferred choice.

However, there's comments on it's thread wear.

Can those users elaborate whether the high wear was on daily drivers?

This is an old post but people may find it and think the Yokohamas don't last. That is not my experience. I have done 47,000km on my A539s and I expect around another 10,000km from them. That is for daily use and I don't go slow.

I’ve only had 10” Yokos on mine. Great tires. I use them on the Subaru too (OEM)
