Centering A Pillar Drill Over A Hole So As To Drill For Increasing Thread Depth?

You could wrap the bit in parcel tape so that it just fits in the head, remove the stud, and drill through the head into the block.

That is another option but I think the drills will not be long enough.

 

but I am thinking of having a guide made to fit inside the threaded hole for a pilot drill. To start off with.

mmm thinking i might just get the sorter studs and be done with it.

might see if i can chat with the boss man tomorrow rather than a minnion as i might even go the whole hog and get steel caps. line bore and thrust faces?

Well they could get it done but they would farm it out.
