I like the 3.1 but I built my 1360 engine for lots of low end torque. Pulls well on 10 inch wheels and is comfortable at cruise.

Years ago ran a 1098 w/twin 1 1/4 su, ported polished 295 head and road rally cam w/3.44 gears. Ideal setup in my opinion for spirited driving and still capable of 90+mph.
