Hello friends! I have a 123Ignition Distributor on the car. Once mounted at its optimum point, the exit for the feed tube is just on the bottom side being this very uncomfortable to connect to the carb.

I have read somewhere that this distributor can rotate, but removed all the screws and 5 + 1, in addition to the side nut where the cables come out and but it does not turn. I've tried to take out the aluminum head where the rotor sits but I'm not beee able to get nothing.

Any help!

Sounds like it was mounted 180 degrees out. You can simply pull the entire distributor unit from the block, turn case and shaft together 180 degrees so the vac line is pointing to the top.

Remove the distributor drive spindle from the block, rotate that by 180 degrees and put it back. Then put the distributor back in, rotated to match, and re-time.

to remove the spindle you’ll need a long 5/16” UNF bolt to thread into the centre of it and then carefully pull. It will twist round as it comes out. I’d advise taking a photo of it in place before you start so you can see the offset and orientation of the slot.

I don't want to worry you, but I would add, tie a bit of string on the bolt, in case the whole lot slips and drops into the gearbox.

Will need to be longer than that.
I'd normally use something like a rocker post stud or one of the long bolts that fix the n/s engine mounting bracket to the gearbox. The longer the bolt the easier it is to remove / replace.

Thanks colleagues. Well, last week I placed an order with Minispares that will arrive in the next few days. If I got to know, I would have bought this item too.

thats pre A+

you'll have to remove the clamp plate, then remove one bolt from the bit it bolts on and remove that casting, the dizzy drive will then be free to slide forward. as mentioned use a long bolt, and DO NOT DROP IT IN THE GEARBOX!!!! been there done that....

Buuuf, I'm not sure I'm able to do that on the street. That's true, the engine is Pre A+. Would be possible to do it without the bolt ?

Thank you very much mini13 !

NO.............you can't do it without a bolt or a stud screwed into the dizzy drive.

There is nothing to get hold of, and once you have pulled the spigot on the end, out of the block, it will fall into the gearbox.

Am I correct, that you do not have a long 5/16 UNF bolt ?
