Windscreen fitting

Do you use any type of sealant when fitting a windscreen like modern cars.

no, all you need is the windscreen rubber and the filler strip to go in it.

No, just the black outer rubber, and the beading strip in the middle

id recomend buying the inser tool for putting the bead back in, makes life so much easier, as does a smear of washing up liquid.

you can use windscreen sealer
i use it when fitting mini glass just to make sure the 1 i use is arbomast autograde windscreen sealer by adshead ratcliffe you can get it from windscreen fitters if they will sell you a tube, i got mine with a new set of glass its about £8 a tube

personally i wouldnt use washing up liquid, its got salt in it and we all no what salt does to rubbers and metal!

Took both my screens out a couple of days ago. There was some old dry sealing paste left on the bodywork at the top and half way down the sides, none anywhere else.

Is it true that the rear windscreen joint comes oversized and needs to be cut ????
What's the trick for cutting it square ?
