Hi Everyone,

I currently have 7inch sealed beam headlights in my mini clubman but they are not very bright. I am wanting to upgrade them to LED headlights. What does anyone think of LED headlights and what do other people have in there minis.

You should watch the Youtube videos from a company called Headlight Revolution. They test a bunch of LED 7" and replacement H4 LED bulbs in the standard lens. Probably the best info on LED lighting you'll find. They show you in real beam patterns that not all LEDs are created equal. I have Wipac Quadoptic 7" with Morimoto 2Stroke 2.0 LED bulbs in them, they have a really nice bright beam and a distinct cutoff so you don't blind oncoming drivers, not cheap but to my eyes worth it. I only wish I had found Headlight Revolution before I bought the Morimotos, they had better results with GTR Ultra 2, one advantage of the Morimoto LED is they have very low current draw. Headlight Revolution also has a great video on aiming the lights which also improved the usable light from my set up.

I won't be able too anytime soon. My car is in my work shop behind my Focus and my boats. Because of Covid 19 the boats won't be going anywhere near the ocean anytime soon. Normally I take the mini out on the first of April, such is life this year.....

When it does come out I'll try to remember to post some photos.

You probably can. There was a post on how someone else wired up the halos on their car, a quick search should turn something up.

LED lights are relatively new

What is "best" today, may well not be 'best' tomorrow.

I recommend genuine Cibie H4 headlamps.  They are a vast improvement over sealed beams and in my opinion more than adequate.  Reasonably priced for a quality headlamp and replacement bulbs cost little.

recently tried to order a pair from one of the few sites that list them and got a call back to advise that the CIBIE 7" with sidelight are now obsolete  :(

there will doubtless still be some old stock out there but you'll need to be patient and prepared to pay a premium to get hold of a set

Well that's unfortunate.  Can you still get the non-sidelight versions as it should be fairly easy to add a sidelight?
