Hey all,
The time is getting closer for me to get sieves rust and respray sorted out, im bordering on going for a matt red body, with a matt black roof and archers/bumpers etc, basically anything chrome i want matt black.

My question is : What happens when i come to wax it? Can i get a wax that will protect the paint, without giving it a gloss?

Cheers,

Tom

I'm not entirely sure about waxing it,... someone like Midridge2 or Coopershaz would be able to tell you straight away I imagine.....

My thoughts (which are un-educated) tell me that if you were to use somehting like Carnuba wax you might be okay... as it's just a wax it shouldn't polish the paint as such.... but i really don't know, I'm not sure how wax works on Matt.

What i can say is that i think you'd be much better off goin for SATIN finish rather than MATT. Satin finish paint has much better weather resistant, water repellent qualities than Matt finish, and it looks a bit sexier too having a slight dull sheen to it too.... :o

Satin,eh? Might have to look into that! Would i then not have the problem with the wax making it glossy?

this is what i'm not sure about.... now I "think" about it i don't think you can Wax these paints, you just have to keep them clean really. Again is stress i'm not sure lol.

But DEFFO look into SATIN colours... much more durable etc.

I think this car has been done satin black can't remember though.... clicky!

Yeh that does look good actually, so maybe satin red body, satin black roof, with matte black bumpers arches, and anything chrome!!
