I would still encourage you to have a go with the Multimeter, even if it is just getting replaced will give you a bit of experience.

 

Also keep hold of the board for spare relays, handy for repairs should a similar problem occur.

I have a spare SPI one if it would help?

I've tried a multimeter on the unit this morning, the Fuel Pump Relay was stuck open, I then fitted it to the car to energize the circuits, the FP Relay wouldnt close unless gently tapped with a screwdriver handle, then worked until I cut power and let the relays de-energise.

I have passed the case on to our auto electrician to repair, I also have a new unit on order, just incase we have issues, I will clean all the terminals and earth to body connections.
