Is the rear subframe original or new some, of the pattern ones are not as true as they should be this could make the front and rear wheels out of line

I would have the tracking checked on the laser type machine and check all corners are true

Right..
I have toe in at the rear. Around 5 mm! But it's not equal. Rear left is toe in 3.5, rear right 1.5. Plus rear left has zero camber, rear right positive 4mm! And this is the original subframe as far as I know. So that's not helping. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and sheer off those camber brackets (because they will!)

Also I seem to have rather a lot of flex in the front, even with solid mounts. Sitting in the driver's seat, stationary, wiggling the steering wheel I can see the bonnet shut lines flex. I think I may have to investigate the panel welds. It will have had at least new A panels over there years I'm sure, and I have seen them in the past applied with only 3 spot welds.

The quest for a straight car continues

Check the subframe mounts are tight and not split, also check the tow board where it meets the floor for splits

If the subframe is solid mounted and the front is moving like that something seems very wrong, I would check:

Check the toe board isn't fractured (where the front subframe rear mounts attach) as suggested above.

Check the inner wings arn't fractured above the frontt subframe towers.

Check the front subframe front bar (the one behind the front panel) as these can fracture.

Get someone to sit in the car and rock the steering while you look around it and see what is moving.

It's welding time :(

Problem being I currently have no welder. Or suitable materials.

So yea. Inner wing driver's side is cracked, passengers A panel only attached at the top and by the seam cover! and the driver's side A panel isn't much better.

But that's not the most fun I discovered, Oh no. Whilst checking the toe board mounts and area again I had the carpet out and found that under that factory bitchumen stuff the floor has disintegrated. Inner silly area. My thumb went right through and pushed off the underseal that was hiding it from the outside.

Not happy.

I feel pretty stupid for not noticing when I bought the car because there's no way it's gone since last October. I should have known better than to trust underseal.
