Large update, i moved house! Finally got my own place, so have been busy trying to get it upto a liveable standard. In the mean time, the van took a bit of a back bench. I did manage to sort the sound deadening out, and now there is a thick application of closed cell foam!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cut up the choke/heater panel to make a simple one and fitted the Minispares heater unit!

 

 

 

Fitted protech shocks all round

 

 

 

Got to use the van a fair bit over summer, so got some miles on it as well as to Gaydon

 

 

 

 

New interior almost completed

 

 

 

 

New glass!

 

 

 

And new engine arrived It's a very low mileage MPi unit from a known car.

I like the seats, did you buy them done or have them retrimmed?

Also is it just coincidence that the neighbour also opposite also has a mini? ?

Seats were retrimmed by JCS Custom Trim ??

As Globule already mentioned, those seats are absolutely lush!

This is way overdue an update!

 

Got the interior in, and changed the steering wheel to a black leather version. Really happy with how it all looks now!!

 

 

 

 

Installed a stainless tank, but had a return line welded in for the EFI conversion

 

 

 

The engine was sent off to KAD to be bored, decked and a centre strap added.

 

 

 

 

Got all the parts from guessworks for a full rebuild with MS evo helical gears, MED ATB diff and KAD pinion support

 

 

 

 

 

Engine work moved to the kitchen over xmas!

 

 

 

And back to the garage for final assembly

Moving onto this year, got the old engine out, then stripped the front down for engine bay spraying! Also.. new wheels

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Refurbished the hilos

Subframe built up ready to go back in

 

 

And treated it to new brakes

 

 

Whilst in the refurb mood, sorted out the wiper motor and a few other parts

And just like that, the engine bay is sprayed! Had to wait a few days for it to harden, then got the subframe and engine in.

 

 

 

 

Wiper motor in, wiring will be tucked through the hole just above it.

 

 

 

 

Sorting through the rats nest of wires behind the dash. Got rid of some and sent the front light loom through the inner wing.

 

 

Engine in!

 

 

 

Added a Hawthorn plate to the fire wall
