Look at the rhs of the grille and there should be a D shaped hole.The inlet bolts to the back of this through the front panel.Steve...

 

If the car never had the fresh air vents originally there may (should?) be a plate over the hole but its screwed in from the front (self tapping screws behind the grille) - plate is behind the valance so inside the inner wing

 

I guess they were factory but whether they get put back if (WHEN!) the front valance is replaced.....depends how conscientious the repairer is.

Didnt know how dirty it can get behind the grill lol
