Hi all,

My bonnet likes to pop up from time to time (always). I was therefore looking at getting straps to keep it down and keep it a bit more secure. Does anyone have pictures of their mini with straps I can have a look at styling and fitting? I have seen a few pictures with a single strap in the middle of the bonnet, but I have no idea how this attaches and works.

Any pictures, help or advice will be great.

Thanks

Ed

Here's mine.

Thanks, they look great. How is the bottom section attached behind the grill?

Is that just screwed straight into the grill surround?

Thanks

It's bolted to the lower vertical flange of the slam panel. Only using 2 bolts and a plate (not the one that comes with the strap)

Bolted through the grille surround and horizontal lower flange of the slam panel - the cover plate needs profiling to match the grille surround.

I haven't managed to find a closer up picture of the bonnet strap I fitted to my Mk1, but I actually fed the strap through the gap underneath the bonnet itself and fixed it to the top of the slam panel. Probably not the correct way of doing it, but it worked pretty well for me at the time.
