Its nice to know somone else has seen this cam though!
mine is spider drive with 1/2 inch lobes.
im hoping for "lumpy as hell" as my static compression is around 11.7:1 ...

hehhe yea well, 1220cc small bore with flat top pistons and a 940 head...
This was supposed to be a torque filled daily! but im going to need some serous cam action to run on anything less than avgas.
i Think im going to end up doing some head work and oppening up the chambers a bit.
fuel is C**p down here, we hav only just got 98ron grrrrrr!
oh and i will be running a knock sensor!

i had an 1100 running 11.5!! they dont arf go like stink!! it had an mg cam tho and a 295 head!! the ports were opened up so far it had sleved pushrod tubes and it ran a 1300 mg inlet valve too!!

it ran fine of 98ron/optimax, pinked a little on 95 but only when pushed hard at low revs!! i jsut didnt push it!

heheh well its an 1100 bored to 68mm so it dam well should do..hehehehe
MG cam? like a metro cam - 544ish?
if that worked then hopfully mine will too :genius: if this cams not suitable ill buy an RE13 (kc's new cam, but the original, australian one)
then ive got to think about induction...
this engine is getting more pricey by the minute :P

the mg is a mix of a 649 and i think a 544 tho it could be the 731!! they used the inlet side of 1 cam i swear its the 649 and the exhaust side of the other whichever it is!! tho having said that the mg cam is said to be a little lacking on lift so it mite use the 544 inlet and the 649 exhaust!! the vizzard book explains all anyway and its about the equivalent of the kent 266!!

i just used the single 1 1/2" su carb with a stub stack!! easy to tune and setup!!!!

id love to try boring mine out to 68mm tho!! jsut to see what it'd pull!! its plodding about in my metro atm and its getting a little worn so it could probably do with a re-build! :genius: shud make better torque numbers than the equivalent big bore motor!! we like torque :P

hmmm sounds goood. the only problem with going to 68mm is getting imp pistons, and the blocks had it once it blows. :'(
im going for torque, although that depends on what cam i get...
i was thinking twin Hs4's with stubs, or a webber if i can afford.

for low down torque id have thought u'd be wanting a smaller carb to keep the air speed high or even do away with the 940 head as that will ruin low down performance!!!! twin 1 1/4" with stubs or maybe a single 1 1/2" with a stub!!
