Hi guys, I was hoping to get a valuation on my 1989 Mini 30, any input would be much appreciated.

The car has been sat for several years now and needs a fair bit of bodywork doing to it. It will need A panels, front panel, scuttle, front floor, a few bits here and there. The back is mostly good.

It does have a great engine though, its a 1430 that came out of a car built by mini sport I believe. It has a stage 4 head, twin 1 3/4" su's, 286 cam. Has a gearbox that is geared towards lower speeds. It has an uprated radiator, new alternator, coil pack. The interior is pretty good, could use a new carpet. As its been sat for a long while, I would assume it will need new mechanicals; ball joints, wheels bearings, bushings etc. Anyways, I'll let the pictures do the talking. Thanks for reading, really appreciate any input.

it’s clearly going to be marketed as a full restoration.
Question marks hanging over the engine and box will also hurt it’s value.
Unless you have the original build spec sheet and attached invoices as evidence it’s all ifs, buts and maybes.

Thanks for the reply.

You're right, it does need a full resto. Regarding the engine and box, I have just given minisport a call and the chap said that they do keep records up to a certain point, and has given me his email address for me to send him the details of the original owner, reg and engine number, so hopefully I will be able to source some info on the build.

If I can get the full spec confirmed by mini sport, what would you say for a rough estimate on the valuation?

Cheers

i'd be interested in the engine without the rest of the car, its just what I've been looking at building do you have a price that you'd like for that?

I just spoke with my friend who sold me the engine, and he reminded me of a condition of our original agreement when I bought it. We agreed that if i ever sold it, it would go back to him. So its not for sale I'm afraid. I would definitely recommend one though, can be a bit of a pain to drive in stop start traffic but it was really quick, very fun. (Still interested in a valuation).
