Just a follow up on this.

Since fitting the Swiftune CSI, and running the number 16 curve my car seems more ‘cammy’. I’m running a 276 (in a 1330 with well flowed head and twin HS4s) which I know can be a bit of a pig below 2500rpm. How does the curve effect the caminess?

From 3000rpm in fourth and the throttle wide open the car pulls like a train.

Minigman, did you get your car running any better ? Did you try any other Curves ?

Im looking at getting a CSI Diz for my 1380 running a Kent 286.

I took the mini to Tiptons rolling road. I drove in with 88bhp and came out with 94.6. Despite tinkering with the different curves amazingly no16 produced the best results timed in at 7 degrees. Torque remained the same.

Looking at the Swiftune CSI curves and CSI curves side by side they do seem to be quite different ? Anyone else agree.

Yes, they are different. Why? Don’t know. Perhaps the CSI curves are more generic than performance oriented? I haven’t compared the two in actual use, but compared to a ‘custom’ curve done by a reputable distributor guy on one of my 45D distributors, the Swiftune takes the prize. The engine is a 1360 with a torquey cam, LCB and a decent intake manifold.

I got in touch with CSI and had a nice Email back this morning. I asked if one of their Curves would suit my 1380 with a 286 cam.

The CSI with Vac Advance is more for standard engine cars and the CSI Non Vac Advance is for Tuned cars Cooper S+ etc . Both have there own different set of 16 Curves.

Then the CSI Pro which is for anything really as you can program in any Curve you like. Top money though.

They all get very good write ups.

Swiftunes CSI is Curved for his Cams. But may suit others...from what i can make out. All good reading.

What cam and what curve did you use croc7?

The cam is by Iskendarian called the "Torquer".  I don't like spinning the guts out so I built the engine for torque rather than HP but the last time on the dyno (rolling road) it was still pulling strongly at 6000.  I use curve #15.  One of Calver's heads and 1.4 rockers.  Its a nice combination and fun to drive.
