So today I took the mini for its VRT ( aka MOT ) it passed from every single test without any advisory but it appears to be running extremely rich, so much so that in a mile or so it turned a fresh set of plugs black. The engine is a stock 1275 austin 1300 engine ( low cr ) with a mg metro "big valve" head ( not ported ), twin su hs2 ( using a M needle ) and a lcb manifold which goes into a 2" exhaust. The percentage was around 6-7 so quite high. I have gone ahead and ordered a set of EB needles which should lean out the mixture considerably, hopefully this fixes it as its got a completely revamped ignition system and a bunch of other new things. What do you guys think ?

Tightened them up all the way that decreased the reading from 8-9 to 6-7 so a step in the right direction.

Everything has been rebuilt ( using the haynes manual ). I am using stub stacks at the moment. I went ahead and ordered them as I have seen them being mentioned a lot in the forums for a stock 1275 with twin hs2s
