This episode has been 10 months in the making but finally I got the drive shafts made.

Later that expected due to (ongoing) internet issues, but here is part 2 of the driveshafts

Driveshafts were a job I was dreading. Did mine slightly different.

Cut the shafts with one 10mm longer. Turned a pin on one side and a hole in the other to press fit together. This keeps the concentricity. Left a large v to weld up.
Tacked it then check run out on lathe. Welded up the V and then skim it back to slide a sleeve over and then weld the sleeve.
Kept checking the runout at every stage and they ended up pretty spot on.
This way there are 3 welds holding the shafts together.

Nice work. Wiring was one of the jobs I was dreading and if I was doing it again I'd use the micra fuse box.
If you are on the micra engine mini facebook group there are .pdf files for wiring diagrams (and more) that have lots more information than the Haynes manual.

Sorry I'm a few days late posting the video here but I'm currently in Denmark. Anyway, here is part 2 of the wiring.

Right. Its time to start tackling all those annoying little jobs that have got to be done in order to turn this from a never ending project, into a working car.

New episode should have been released tonight but unfortunately during the upload process I got copyright claimed so there will be a slight delay while I sort it out. 

 

It appears a piece of music I used from a copyright free source, uses a sample from another track which someone claims (the track in the above image is the sample and not the actual track I used). While YouTube says that the owner gives permission and that there will be no issue, I noticed who was making the claim and have no desired in dealing with them again.

 

Hopefully I should be able to re-edit the episode and upload load it again, ready for tomorrow evening.

In case people were wondering, typically an episode takes about 4 weeks to make. I've attempted to make the next one in about 12 days

(lots of late nights and early mornings ).
