Apparently throttle response can 'improve' and the 'smoothness' of the engine can 'improve', to be honest i've always found it to be negligable.
Maintenance wise, there's a lot of scare mongering that goes on regarding twins, If set up carefully, using ther ight linkages and tuned properly, they are no more hassle than a single SU.

if you want some more from your carb might as well get a HIF 38 (?) probly be easyer and better.

yeah i asked a mate of mine about twin carbs. he said don't because they a complet bugger to set up.

if you use the correct linkages and balance the oils well enough so you get the same response from each carb they're fine, they're not hard to set up as such, you just need to know what you're doing.
Id second moving to a larger single SU with an internal float, like an HIF38.
