1996 Spi.

It needs to go in for MOT soon. First one in my ownership. It has no cat. I am lead to believe this is a fail.
I want to put the cat back with the minimum of changes to what I have.
The system seems to be in 4 bits and they are all slid together and clamped, no flanges. It has:

LCB, 2 into 1 peice, straight-ish pipe to twin box rear system That I think is from minisport.
It's all fairly new and works well so I'd rather keep what I can.

What do I need? ;)

(I have no other bits by the way, just what's on it so obviously I'll have to sort at least a cat and......you tell me :) )

First go for the MOT and see what happens.

as you have no real idea of what the exhaust is other than who may have sold it get some pictures.

but it may pass as it is.

I would try it, but I'd rather not have a fail on the car's records.
From what I gather, the rules changed in 2012 so the tester has to check for a catalytic converter if the car was originally fitted with one. Even if it may actually pass the emissions test without it, not having one present is a fail.

Ask your MoT tester for a pre-MoT check - ie effectively do the test without logging the car on to the system.
