i guess you could keep the weight balance if u use an aluminium beam axle at the rear with coilovers!! and strategicly places lightweight panels like the boot floor and maybe and alli tank!!

just keep the balance right and i rekon it'll handle fine

looks like that lynx ae car is being setup for a starter motor reverse gear!! theres a nicely placed mounting on they're diff!!

loving your design by the way!!

have u got a picture of the diff before engine fitment?? this is the prt im most interested in!!

welded on some plates to cover the gears and the diff got a grease nipple , so i filled in a little SAE90 gear oil and pumped in some grease. :D

Hi,

Where did you get the sprockets from? I have had a look around and can only find a 17tooth small sprocket. I'm doing somthing very similar, using a ford diff, using standard ford inner Cv joints and welding mini outter drive shaft and CV joints. This is for a RWD mini. Are these standard R1 sprockets?

Any help appreciated!

Suren

Demon Tweaks can sell you various front sprockets for the R1, they definately go to a 14 tooth as I have one and I think the biggest is 18

You cant rush perfection lol, my mate Darren might sell his yellow mini once his new car is finished and touch wood start selling his kits. The trouble Darren has he builds a lot of grass track cars so most of his time is spent on these, I will try and kick his ass for you peeps so he can get his kits done and sold :withstupid:

He is going to be selling the FWD R1 kits

Its well different, no back seat, fibreglass front end with A panels, no crossmember, lightend doors, his own self made and designed roll cage which looks the nuts (also a side line for him as well as his engine coversions) polycarbonate windows, painted once done in a very bright colour.

So overal a lot lighter, stiffer and it should go a lot better. I will try and get some good pics next I am around his house. Last time I was there they looked a bit pants due to not enough lighting.
