just a quick question,

My mini had accident damage off-side rear when I bought it, which I fixed with the help of a large hammer. it's has MOT for six months, so I will have to repair the damage correctly befor it expires.

Basically I need to fit quite a few new panels to the rear, including the rear offside internal wheel arch.
May also replace stills and floor, as i don't really like the dodgy repairs which had been done by a tool.

Does anybody know any dimensions to build a frame to support the chassis, to hold everything together and make sure it's all straight and true.

Thanks for your help

Richie

As fair as I am aware as long as there is nothing protruding that could catch on another car or pedestrian then you should be fine. If there is jagged metal pointing out, you're gonna need to get that sorted before you go for your MOT

there are sharp edges under the wheel arch, and the rear panel was so badly dented it needs replacing but because of the rust between adjoining panels in total I need:-

interior rear offside wheel arch.if
outer rear offside wheel arch.
rear bottom panel.
boot floor repair panel.
rear repair panel from the rear window down.

interior rear offside wheel arch.
outer rear offside wheel arch.

These are not separate panels. It is one complete panel.

If the car has had this amount of rear end damage, was it an insurance write-off?

Why do you need a frame just to replace the panels listed above?

When you say the outer wheel arch panel, do you mean the rear quarter panel?

The person was third party, was a hit and run :P . so they had no one to clame off.

I paid £110 T+T for 6 months with no repairs done.

some photos of the damage as it is now. i put a new second hand boot on, i had to cut thr old one out with and angle grinder! it was pushed inside the boot.

looks like theres a little rust in the corner there!! that will fail the mot as its within 12" of the subframe mount that the mot says it must not be!!

not the easiest place in the world to patch up but it is necesary!!

it can be be rotten near a mounting point, just not paper thin or full of holes.

Any sharp edges- stick some gaffer tape over them, and you will be fine.
