Holy sh**!! (embarrassed)

Thanks, that is highly appreciated.

I like the bonnet stops you have there (left and right), do you have a product code?

It should fit in a slot on the inner flitch , on the clutch side

It does not....
As said above should fit in this bit on the inner wing.

That's missing on my van too.
I'm going to have to fabricate something..... assuming you can't buy them separately

I owned a mini 20 years ago, I'm a 100% n00b for sure. There will be more stupid questions without doubt. Thanks again to all commenters.

@nicklouse - On it's way!

@cal844 - The OP? Tell me more.

@Red Riley - I guess we should stop this thread here? :)

OP means Original Poster. You can fabricate the bracket, the hard part will be making the shape of the cut out.

If you want to be able to put down the bonnet stay prop, and don't fancy welding/drilling painting (and you don't want to place it in the raingutter between outer wing en inner wing as that might score the paint), you can opt for the following non standard location where there is a hole in the front panel:

bonnet_prop_in_frontpanel.jpg

If that hole is to big, just insert a grommet here and drill a hole in the grommet slightly wider than the width of the bonnet stay prop.

(Yes, this is a not the factory standard position, but it does work and could cater for the ones that have this bracket missing and want to solve this dead cheap and without any hassle or concerns on "originality")

Not my car unfortunately, you can get these 2 types from minispares. I've got the 1st type on mine but only the passenger side lines up with a hole really.
