I'm certain that if there was a better solution, someone would have come up with it already, but is there an easier way of measuring caster without having to mess about with turning the wheels 20deg one way, 20 deg the other way etc etc?
For example, can anyone tell me if the distances A+B below are identical?
And if so, can I then assume that the straight edge on my caliper (highlighted in red) is a good indication of caster?
And this may be a completely ludicrous question due to presumably a host of variables, but has anyone ever figured out a rough guide for setting camber on a jacked up car which gives the equivalent camber when the car is back on the floor with the suspension settled? I'm sure if someone had AutoCAD and the inclination/time to do it, it could be worked out based on given front ride height.
Feel free to laugh...
