When doing Production Mini 1000 racing and we were not allowed such exotica we "stole" the "springs" rapped around the Metro front brake hoses.. these "springs" / "coils" offered a fair bit of protection to the brake hoses from scuff and stones etc and can be "wrapped" on without disturbing the hose at all...(clearly no good for fuel lines though)
