Just visited Mini Spares to pickup some 165/60/12 Falken's ready for 2021 (if anything is going on in 2021 that is) and I can't find them. Not listed on BlackCircles either.

Have they been discontinued?

Ask your local tyre place to look on the system, if they are any good they can tell you what's going on.

My local place is brilliant, the manager is into his cars in a big way and he is always happy yo help out - he's happy me fitting my 10's and then getting them balanced on his machine - he claims mini tyres are the worst things he has to deal with.

Even better reason to splash out a bit extra on the far superior Yokohama tyres.

I've got Falkens on my rover cooper and the handling dosent feel as sharp as it did on the old budget tyres they replaced, same story with my r50 cooper so not sure i would have them again anyway.

Shame as ive had them in the past on another mini and a Honda i owned and they were always ok then

Response from Falken tyres this morning

I regret to inform you that production of the ZE914 has been discontinued at the end of 2019.

Due to the rather low demand of this size, no successor product is planned for the time being.

Lets hope the buying power of somebody like Mini Spares can twist their arm in the future. Yes, Yokohama's are a credible alternative but their wet performance isn't as good in my experience and the only other option is Nankang which have received some terrible reviews.

Which Nankangs are you on about? There are a few options depending on usage.

Shame about the falkens as they are great in the wet. Had a set fitted in May last year.

I run nankang ns2rs on another of my cars no complaints at all a decent budget track day tyre.

Ar1 @£90 per corner not cheap for a mini though, depends on your needs

I was too busy for searching them here in the Netherlands but couldn't find them! I just saw them in the UK at Hudersfield spares, but now with the import taxes for us they will be too expensive. Just ordered a pair of Nankang tyres, I hope they are fine. If not I go back to the Yoko's..

I tried buying some back in November and could only find them for sale at Huddersfield Spares. They're not even listed on Falken's website anymore so my best guess is that they are discontinued or at least halted. Ended up getting the Yoko's either way as a good deal came around on black Friday...

If Bull Motif's Mini spares are anything like their other two "specialties" (both now sold off to ESM by the way!), they list items on their website they apparently can't supply!
