Beautiful car. Reminds me of the Derek McMahon racing Escort at the old Nürburgring 6h when Jody Scheckter was bought in by the race orginisers to sideline Alec Poole and John Handley to learn a bit the way round the many curves for the following Grand Prix. All familiar names here I suppose....http://touringcarrac...urburgring.html

My personal thoughts are that there are three truly iconic British cars. They are the Mini, the rear-wheel-drive Escorts (Mk.1 & Mk.2) and the Jaguar E-Type.

This new iteration of the Escort is great. My son has a 1978 RS2000 rally car which is very competitive and great to drive. It is, like the Minis, very friendly to drive and always brings a big smile. This new Escort must be fantastic to drive and will further enhance the sttus of these great cars. I see that a Mk.1 Escort is also available.

You need a serious wallet for that, and I love the Escorts but for 78 K, maybe at the risk of being shot, I might find something a bit more worthy of that price tag
