Hi all. I have recently bought back my classic mini which I sold 10 years ago.I had fitted what I believe was a built engine but previous owners lost the full details which I had acquired from the engine builders after tracking them down. Believe it was a stage 2 1380. Engine code is FMS221MS895. Does anyone recognise this code so I can establish builder and full spec?
Regards Gary

Can you post a picture of where and how this code is displayed? That should help in tracing the origin.

Possibly a Freeway Motorsport Engine (previous name for Minispeed)

If it uses the same format as Minispeed then the engine number would be...

FMS: Freeway Motorsport

Engine Number: 221

Engine Builder: Someone with the initials MS

Build Date: Aug 1995

Hopefully an ex-Minispeed employee might be able to give you the specs.

Hi all. Thanks for your replies. Freeway Motorsport sounds familiar. I'll contact Alex and post a picture when I work out how to.

He taught me how to build the engines at Freeway motorsport. Some engines will have JD on the stamp which were built by me Jon Deacon
