The proper.ones I've seen also say Dunlop. These don't show Dunlop anywhere.
Several years old but never fitted
Damn...can't seem to add pictures from a phone

They look like the Smootha Ride cone springs, designed of course by the inventor of the Mini's suspension systems, Alex Moulton. I don't think Moulton had these made by Dunlop. From the looks of it, Avon is the manufacturer.

Or produced for a company that bought the rights to use the name Moulton.
if you want to get ones that are original then the closest you can get are the ones made by M Part as sold by MiniSpares. These are made on the original equipment and with rubber to the original specification.

Last time I bought the M Part ones the name Dunlop had been removed presumably because it's their trademark and they no longer have anything to do with them.

Correct. As can be found out on the MiniSpares page.
also Avon had nothing to do with the originals and is not the company many people associate with the name.

OK great... thanks for clarifying.
Not what I was hoping to hear though....lol
@Mini Mad .... These aren't as tall as the Smooth-a-ride cones. Same profile as stock.
Concerned about fitting these , not sure if they will "settle in" like originals.

These https://usa.minispor...sion-cone.html look suspiciously like the Chinese Cones that I was sent last year to evaluate. I think House Bricks have a softer rate. On test, I stopped when I'd compressed them by 6 mm and the rate was near 2 tonnes. Utter junk.
That on the left.

How do the M-Machines cones compare to the originals?
.... & do they have the same compression rate as those for the saloon. If they do (as they are made in the UK & presumably available over here) they should be the one we all need to buy.

M Part make the originals. That is to say. Original tooling. Original recipe. Do M-Machine sell M-Parts parts? ;)

I could be wrong but been to M Machine many times & its a metal work shop - mainly metal suppliers & fabricators of body & repair panels.

I suspect you are referring to the M-parts Cones ?
I've found them very close to OEM Cones that I tested in the mid 80's.
