Rubber Springs

Could they be Smootha Ride cones that have squashed a bit after settling in? They looked a little tall to me for used cones. If they're new, then probably not. Strange though that a knockoff manufacturer would spend the money to engrave the molds with that much notation, that doesn't match the cones the factory released.

 

The "Designed by Alex Moulton" lettering is what makes me thing this is something directly associated with Alex Moulton worked on, similar to his Smootha Ride project.

 

Moulton has an association with the Avon rubber company because Avon bought his family's company in the 50's. I believe he still lived in the Avon area and based his new companies there. I wouldn't be surprised if he had Avon make some of the rubber parts for his various designs.

Bluedragon...  these ones have never been fitted.  They were given to me (2) by a friend that sold his unfinished project.

 

I did fit a front set of the "chinese" ones a few yrs back......under compressing to fit....one when BANG...pulled the nut right off.  Luckily no fingers were close.
