Hi All,

There's a petition to reduce the classification of classic cars from 40 years old to 30 years old.

I came across an article in the motoring section of the Daily Mail regarding the impact on older cars, not classed as classics due to not being 40+ years old, being scrapped in London when the ULEZ is introduced in October.

https://www.dailymai...cars-roads.html

I will be one of the victims of this as my Mini is a 1989 plate so would appreciate everyone's support which may help save some of the newer classics from the scrap heap so please consider signing the petition or sharing with other enthusiasts through social media.

Thanks.

If I'm reading this correctly it's only vehicles which are not Euro 4 compliant? So anything pre 2005?

This is a joke, there can't be that many pre 2005 cars running around London but most of those that do are probably owned by people who cannot afford a newer car.

The policy should be scrapped.  :xxx:

Signed.

We are really close to being unable to drive our minis on the public road, without an electric conversation.

There's already a huge number of cities that you're no longer allowed to drive into, including places i enjoyed visiting in my mini in mainland Europe during IMM trips.

Seeing classic minis nipping around London was always a pleasure, it will be a less cool place without them.
