Auto transmission, if that makes a difference.

I fitted this recently on an '94 SPI engine, but then the injection variant with flanges for the catalyst, nice deep sound at the back, far from annoying. Click for a picture

Did you remove the cat too? How was removing the lambda sensor?

I have a cat replacement pipe as I didn't get an exhaust with my car in boxes project. I have used the standard SPI exhaust manifold and downpipe as it flows just fine, which means the lambda is still in its original place, there is none past the cat.

 

I guess I'm not understanding where the sensor sits? is it in the manifold/downpipe section? If so, I'm more open to removing/replacing the cat with a replacement pipe.

I'm not current on the JDM cars but, if I understand correctly they are, effectively, an MPi, in which case the sensor is in the cast manifold.

Much better, IMO, than the standard one:

which hangs too low and got abraded by road humps on my car.
