Good comments all; thank you. I want to MoT it as it’s been off the road for 20+ years and, despite all the obvious work I’m doing to it to make it roadworthy, you just never know. However, I think some of the welding, such as an old but neat patch on the rear subframe may now fail it anyway, according to my mechanic father-in-law…

Properly welded patch on a built up originally welded subframe is allowed,"is it as strong as the original?" is the criteria.There is nothing to be lost having another set of eyes on the job.Good luck and enjoy,Steve..
