C-M have good bite from cold.
I have used lots of different pad materials from DS11 (NLA), Ferodo 3000, 'RedStuff', M1144, M1166 & 1177.
Carbon-Metallic are by far the best and well worth the price.

What are they like for brake dust?

I ran some Ferodos on my Alfa and they were great brakers but coated the wheels in almost impossible-to-remove grime.

I've not found them to be better or worse than more standard pads. But they are fantastic in performance terms.
