It might really be a heat problem. Would you try to build a heat sheet under the manifold / carb? Or wrap the manifold?
I currently run a RC 40 system and was thinking of going to the maniflow RCM system. Med offers a 1 7/8 RCM and the 2β.
Will a slightly bigger diameter stay cooler as the heat can be transferred faster ?
I think the maniflow system also sits a bit higher and has better ground clearance. I found a picture in the mk1 forum and it really looks neat.
