Hello! Looking for information on what brake/wheel setup works with the KAD brakes for 10" wheels.
I know they have 2 sizes of discs and calipers, 7.75" and 7.9". I would like to know what wheels people use in combination with these brakes! Im sure some 10" wheels wont fit 7.9", I just need to know which ones. Thanks in advance!
My 2 options for wheels are 6x10 GB or 6x10 RS watanabes.

that looks quite tight but unsure if as tight as this, is this close on your end? hard to tell by the photo. Im not sure this is enough cleareance
I've got 7.9" KAD calipers with vented discs under 6x10 genuine minilites. Not the deep dish version but the one with more inward offset that minispares call Cooper S offset. My previous set of 5x10 GB's fitted as well.

Wow that's tight, no issues with balance weights? from the template placed on my wheels i can see it is about the same clearance. Its a tough call given the price of these brakes
It's tighter at the outer face of the caliper, about 1.0mm clearance using a feeler gauge.

I have mini sport 4 pot 7.9" disks under mini special wheels. I took the foam backing off the wheel weights and shaved the caliper for clearance. Some people don't run wheel weights at all

Do you know if the solid version of the brakes would have a larger clearance? I assume since the disks are thinner perhaps the callipers too?

The solid disc version will move the outer caliper half inboard by the width of the black spacer (haven't measured it but I guess it about 10mm wide) so may possibly give fractionally more clearance depending on wheel design.

Thanks for your help!
I wrote to KAD about this.
I mirrored the template and i get about a bit less of 1mm clearance for the 7,9" vented. Pretty similar to the Minilites you have. Relying on a cardboard template with such a small clearance is a big gamble! specially with the cost of the kit.
I'm pretty certain that the inner and outer caliper halves are the same for vented and solid discs. The vented versions just have the black spacer added between the caliper halves to make up the additional width for the vented discs (exactly as British Leyland did for the original metro turbo calipers)
