[Ricester]

My 82 saloon had quite a bit of the rear end cut away with new panels put in by the body shop. I’ve had the car back for about a year now and I went to fit the fuel tank tonight and realised there is no plate for the strap to bolt into. It used to have one.

I have no welding experience at all. Is there another way to secure the tank without welding a new plate in?
