There have recently been a number of topics regarding the innacuraceies of the speedo, especially after a gearbox/engine change, speedo change and/or wheel swap.

Most of these are primarily due to not knowing what is in the car to start with so to help us all ( and to build a fairly comprehempsive FAQ ) I would like those owners who have either standard production vehicles, or ones in which you know the speedo reading is correct and know the origin of the essential parts could provide some information.

Information required...

Speedo Worm/Spindle

Here's a couple of known examples.

Model Mini 1000
Year 60's 70's & 80's
Speedo TPM 1280 (90 mph Centre Smiths)
Tyre Size 145x10
FD Ratio 3.44:1
