Hi
I am installing some new headlights on my 1981 clubman that have 2 additional wires on them compared to the standard light (running light and indicator).

What is the best way of getting these additional wires INTO the headlight bucket, even if I pulled the rubber 'plug' out it doesn't look like there would be enough space for them to fit through with the current 3 wires.

See attached images to see what I mean

i presume from your post you have a 5 wire loom fitted to the old headlight at present and the new headlight unit has only 3 wires.

If this is the case remove both looms from each headlight, compare the grommet hole sizes and adjust to suit on the new headlight bowl, if needed, and then fit the 5 wire loom to the new unit.

Drill another hole. New grommit... still not sure why you are running an indicator wire into your hedlamp..

this type of grommet (and some pvc sleeving) might work better for what you're wanting to do

you could also consider replacing the wires themselves with thinwall equivalents which are less bulky

I agree, very confusing! Sidelight and indicator is different from the main light unit

Assuming he is planning to run the LED headlight that uses the halo lamp portion as a sidelight as well as an indicator hence needing the extra wiring. But as above just fit a suitable grommet into a larger hole, add some silicone sealer if you end up with a gap to prevent water ingress.

Correct I am using a newer led headlight which has a running light and indicator built into the unit.

Awesome thanks, I was trying to avoid doing the obvious/intrusive thing and just drilling another hole but thats fine.
