Hey folks,

I try to fit some Alfa seats in my 91 Cooper. But I'm a bit in a struggle with where to cut them.
I grüß I have to Cut the metal bars and some foam. But I think they will become very flimsy?

Maybe if anyone has a picture of their Cut down rear seats?

I've only cut the metal bars in the middle of the backrest so it leans over the bump in the back wall. You may want to anchor it by drilling holes in the back wall and a couple of bolts/hook bolts, the fitting seemed fine after that.

The seat needs a little extra padding undernearth to fill out the shape of the bench if I recall correct.

Do you find that with the front AND rear seats in the mini there is literally no leg room in the back? Not that I’ll sit in there that is. Thinking of just putting the standard mini rear seat in for more room. Obviously front seats are Much deeper than original mini ones, but there are nice and comfortable.

I made these two brackets to hook the seat onto and hold it to the back wall, and these brackets on the seat base to screw the seat base to.

Back to original question where to cut? not sure why you need to cut, i shaped the centre plastic to follow contour in backrest of car and bolted each side through backrest into boot, made parcel shelf to also follow contour as this will now be seen, for the base i made a bracket each side bolted to existing seat base floor, where backrest finishes each side there is a strip which also shows which i covered with vinyl, wheel arch covers made in black leather with red stitching.

I used original front spi seats, all covered to match, black leather with harris tweed.

Hope this helps.

Mine are out of a Alfa GTV.
The front seats so have seatbelts mounted which have to be removed!
