I keep in mind that Stu  :shifty:

Another idea : I have a similar junction box as on the picture. I bought it 2 years ago but not installed. With this box I wanted to replace the bullet connectors behind the grille. Now I think it would be a nice solution to distribute the lighting wires on the front.

Fuses are a good idea, say the headlamp plug melts(it has happened to me)and the live touches the earth?Don't over think it,fit a main and dip relay to each side powered from the solenoid with fuses.Connect the lamps to these relays in the correct order.Use the existing wiring to switch the correct relays.Very simple project.Use your supplier of choice for relays and do not cheap out on the mounts and fuses.Enjoy,Steve..PS it is only wiring in some relays, use google for inspiration.

I am not sure if this link is posted correctly but this post and the next show my relay installation wiring and pic that did not require cuts to the factory wiring.  Note that my Mini is a 63, not a 75.  Hope it helps you.

I used 28 strand wire.  Equivalent to 14 gauge.

I fitted one of these a couple of years ago

https://www.ebay.co....kp:BFBMnq-c_sBg

it did a good job, it also takes the load off the headlight switch.

well worth the money.

Gaspen, mine are on the offside inner wing, the extra 2 relays are for the horn and the spotlight. Please ignore the wiring, I have not wrapped it yet
