Thinking of changing standard MPI fuel tank for a Alloy one.. Can anyone help me find right one.? Any help to point me in right direction would be great..

Is there a Ali tank available that has same fittings as a MPI.? Fuel sender/Pump/Wireing.? Engine 1310 has just been rebuilt high spec

to handel a Vmax S/C.. I know I need to fit better fuel pump. Trying to use original parts new sender/wireing...

Thanks Lynne.

Are you looking for weight savings or increased capacity?

And loss of storage space?

No. And the MPi fuel pump is more than capable for your application. I'm still using the original one the car came with and running 180bhp.

The other option is to buy an aftermarket square tank, mount it to the boot floor and have filler necks added to both sides? Seen it done a few times and people end up with a 10 gallon (45L) tank. Problem is, no matter it being alloy, the extra capacity in fuel is almost equivilant to 1kg per litre. Being an MPi fuel tank is 7.5 gallon (34L), are you running out of fuel a lot? I get approx 34mpg on a cruise in my Mpi turbo and can happily do 200 miles without care.
