Hey everyone.

I am in the process of installing power door locks and windows on my not original mk3 Innocenti mini.

Where did you drill holes to pass the wires through? I managed to make a hole in the door pretty easily using an angled thing, but I dont where where to make the hole in the body shell. I dont know if under the dash rail makes it impossible to hide, or if near the hinge is a bad idea for the strength of the door.

Can you guys give me some ideas/pointers/pictures?

Thanks

For goodness sake, don't drill a hole anywhere on you bodyshell.

The DVLA are adamant that it will make it so weak that it is no longer a Mini, but a kit-car that needs to pass an inspection before, maybe, being issued with a "Q" number plate.

This may be of interest to many on TMF as it now appears if you drill a hole in your Mini it will make the previous registration invalid and that its identity must be voided. The DVLA stated that, "The car requires an IVA and if successful will then be issued a Q-plate".

No need to put holes in the door. Add check strap at the bottom of the door (like the MK1). Run the wires behind the carpet in the footwell. Then hide them behind the check strap. Then run behind the door card. Simple.
