So latest news hot off the press is the answer is no i'm afraid. The system cannot modified due to its age.

I closed my PayPal account recently, but you can still use PayPal without an account. I used it simply to renew my subscription. 👍

It would be good if the forum could provide other ways of payment considering the direction Paypal is headed.

I'm pleased other members are aware of this.

 

When Paypal backtracked and allowed The Free Speech Union to reopen it's accounts there was made mention that the Government was considering bringing in legislation to prevent financial organisations doing just this.

 

Wonder if this will happen?

As i have already mentioned, due to the limitations of the system we use for the forum and the way its embedded, Paypal is the only system we will be using currently.

 

I understand there are other potential ways of making payment out there, but from our IT guru we cannot utilise them as we currently stand. Also please understand this forum has been going for sometime now, we are all volunteers and Adam aka Deathrow has given up a lot of his free time to ensure the forum runs as smoothly as possible.

 

I can raise the issue again and see if there is something that could potentially be done, but i'm afraid due to the way the forum is run (in our free time) this will not be a quick process. So please bare with us, we do listen and take on members concerns.

Slightly ot, but why the wish to close a paypal account? Surely you can just leave it dormant for the odd occasion when it's useful?

Paypal has become/always was political.The fact they openly condemn free speech now to the point of freezing accounts for people who dont "think correctly" has got people leaving in droves.
