IIRC Spider did mention a Aus company that make them as well.
That would have been a Romac but theirs aren't a Viscous type.
Hmm. Something isn’t right here. On my car, the 12a361 bracket has the cutout (?) directly above where it attaches to the gearbox but nearly opposite where the engine mount attaches to the subframe.
There was a few different brackets used here over the years and also, there's a fair bit of 'adjustment' due to the size of the holes in everything there, however, the 'adjustment' to it's final position really needs to be done once it's all landed in the subframe and the engine mounts lined up.
Is it a worthwhile mod though? If it only makes a small difference, I could do without the grief of the install
There was a discussion recently about Harmonic Dampers and what they do recently;-

In regards to 'standard' types vs Viscous types, the standard types use a rubber ring on to which is mounted a mass. They are generally 'tuned' for particular torsional vibration frequency ranges, in a small-ish band, the hardness of the rubber and the amount of mass used in manufacture is how they are 'tuned'.
Viscous types however because they usually use a fluid they cover a far bigger range of frequencies.
