I own a 94 rover mini cooper 1.3 spi. The fuel gage was working until the dashboard was replaced, now it doesnt work. The wiring has been checked from back to front and is okay. Does anyone have any ideas?

While this is specific to the Smiths Gauges, the initial diagnoses part of it can be applied to your gauges too;-

The gauges in the MPI are Nippon and while I don't think they don't have the adjustments of the Smiths, their operation, including a Voltage Stabaliser (Regulator) is the same as the Smiths.
