if you have a friendly mot test centre near you get on brake test rollers first so at least you know what brakes are doing or at least working, can also do at home with wrench on wheel while someone presses brake but not as accurate. for info. fitted minisport 4 pots with 7.9 discs to mini don't expect a massive difference in initial braking over 8.4 just means you can fit 10inch wheels and still stop, also you may notice a slightly longer pedal

What Brakes do you have ?
How recently has this been occurring ?
Have you done anything to the brakes following which this poor performance started occurring ?

I'm still working on them. After i have done a couple more tests i may start a thread. I just wondered if Dude61 had solved his issue it may give me a clue to work with
