that's a good point, I should clarify then when I said sticky I meant one side was adhesive to the point where wrapping it back on itself made it extremely tiresome and hard work to un-peel again afterwards

actually though when using it, it didn't stick to my fingers or the scissors in any annoying sort of way

abrasion resistance is also a fair point but I intend to mitigate with rubber grommets and, as previously mentioned, in some cases flex conduit

fortunately for me I work for an electrical contractor so all of this is cheaply (if not freely) available

When I took my loom out, I managed to run all wires within the top space where the grill attaches. To do this you will need to change the self tappers that hold the grill, to fixed bolts protruding from the bulkhead, then use nuts to secure the grill.  A bit more work to get the grill off but so much better.  I also rewired/redirected some of the wires to make them all fit.

Have a look at Auto electrical supplies (AES) Bromsgrove for tapes & sleeves.

Plus adhesive insulation tape will leave its glue all over the wires making an absolute horrible sticky mess.
I tend to use spirap wrapping and occasiinally split conduit tube.
